Eastern Michigan QB Noah Kim dealing with injury as Eagles can’t catch health break
Kim missing time for the Eagles would be a big blow for a team that has mostly managed to tread water with bad health luck.
Ypsilanti — Quarterback Noah Kim’s status for a road game at Ohio on Saturday for Eastern Michigan is not certain, as the Eagles will see how much the veteran quarterback can practice this week after he popped up as questionable on the pregame injury report over the weekend.
Kim did start vs. Toledo in what eventually became a lopsided loss, eventually leaving that game after sustaining some notable hits and the Rockets rolled away with a big lead. Kim wasn't explicitly pulled because of an injury vs. the Rockets, but it didn’t help his case to stay in the game.
The nature of Kim’s injury is unclear, nor is his availability for Saturday vs. Ohio.
“We'll just see how much Noah can take in the week” head coach Chris Creighton said on Monday.
Kim hadn’t been on the injury report for EMU prior to Saturday, and didn’t appear to sustain any apparent injury in the Eagles’ win over Akron the week prior. But evidently in the time between that game kicking off and this past Saturday morning, something cropped up for Kim.
Kim finished 16-of-36 for 204 yards and a pair of touchdowns against Toledo, and took two sacks, including an early sack-fumble that helped Toledo bury EMU early.

When Kim did finally get pulled for the day, Brogan McCaughey and Jace Stuckey each got a chance in the game.
McCaughey went 2-of-4 for 18 yards and got sacked once, while Stuckey got sacked three times going 2-of-3 for 10 yards.
If Kim can’t play at Ohio this Saturday, it will likely be one of Stuckey or McCaughey getting the start.
Creighton on Monday didn’t intimate heavily one way or another which player would likely get the nod in the event Kim is out. They’re listed as co-backups on the depth chart.
“So we've got to figure all that out, you know, in terms of dividing up the reps,” Creighton said. “We haven't made any decisions on that yet.”
If Kim cannot make the start vs. Ohio, he’ll join the laundry list of Eastern Michigan starters who have missed at least one game, including but not limited to RT Elijha Payne, RG Cole Dellinger, LG Guzzy Kayed, WR Nick Devereaux, WR Harold Mack, LB Barry Manning and S Jason Marshall.
