Senior ownership fueling EMU's 2-0 MAC start: ‘Make sure that the locker room is right’
Eastern Michigan is out to a 2-0 start in the MAC for the first time in more than 20 years, in part due to the senior class taking ownership and leading the charge.
Holding a 14-7 lead over UMass entering halftime at McGuirk Alumni Stadium, Eastern Michigan brewed a 21-0 run out of the break that would bury the Minutemen in an eventual 38-14 win on Saturday.
And head coach Chris Creighton got to sit back and watch it happen.
“I will tell you this: I did nothing at halftime,” Creighton said during his Monday press conference, “other than sit around the circle with the offensive staff and listen to their ideas and the plan that we were going to come up with, after coach Pike finally joined us after getting stuck in the elevator. So it was a very short halftime for him.”
