MT. PLEASANT — As “we’re starting the backup quarterback” situations go, Central Michigan is pretty fortunate.
With Angel Flores out for the year following ankle surgery after the Western Michigan game, junior Jadyn Glasser has stepped in and will be the presumed starter through the stretch run in November.
But unlike so many backups, who may not have even played notable snaps, let alone give a team a chance to win, Glasser has started games at CMU before, and looked like a perfectly capable quarterbacking option as Central Michigan fell, 28-27, to Miami (OH) in his first start of 2026.
“It's part challenging, part really, really fun in coaching,” head coach Matt Drinkall said Friday. “But Angel and Jadyn are the exact opposite skill set at everything, as far as like, reads, processing, throwing, running, they're the opposite, as you could possibly be.”
